CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (30th March) and cover positions up to Tuesday (27th March). COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold – Net position long and increasing
Long positions rose sharply last week. The net long positions got increased by 54,623 contracts to +203.3K contracts.
- Copper – Net position long and decreasing
Long positions declined for a third consecutive week. The net longs decreased by 11,674 contracts to +19.2K contracts.
- Silver – Net position short and increasing
The short positions rose last week by 1,141 contracts to -13.7K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and increasing
Speculators increased long positions for a second consecutive week and by 12,062 contracts, which brought the net positions to +715.8K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and decreasing
Short positions declined for a fourth consecutive week and by 5,256 contracts that pushed the net position to -94.2K contracts.
