Hyundai is revolutionizing the electric vehicle market with its 2024 IONIQ 5, now available for lease at a price lower than the Nissan Versa, the most affordable car in the US. With substantial incentives driving down costs, Hyundai's momentum in EV sales remains strong, following record-breaking months in March and May
Hyundai IONIQ 5 Challenges Affordable Car Norms with Lease Incentives
Hyundai's most popular electric SUV is currently available for purchase. The Nissan Versa is the most affordable car in the United States, with a starting price of $17,820. However, substantial incentives make the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 even more affordable to lease.
According to Electrek, Hyundai's IONIQ 5 was the sixth most popular electric vehicle in the United States last year, with more than 34,000 units delivered.
Sales have continued to increase consistently in 2024, and the momentum has not slowed. In the first five months of the year, nearly 15,000 IONIQ 5 models were sold, following the establishment of new sales records in March and May.
Thanks to significant new incentives, a 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 can now be leased for a lower price than the most affordable car in the United States.
The 2024 Nissan Versa is the most affordable vehicle in the United States, with a starting price of $17,820. Nevertheless, it is possible to lease a long-range, fast-charging electric SUV for a reduced price, even without promotions. Additionally, the SUV is much more visually appealing.
According to CarsDirect, an online auto research firm, Nissan's Versa is priced at an estimated $381 monthly for lease. This is a $19,490 MSRP (2024 Versa S CVT) for 36 months with no down payment.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 SEL RWD Lease Offers Unprecedented Value in Electric Vehicle Market
The 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SEL RWD (with a range of up to 303 miles) is a significantly more advantageous offer at a mere $229 over 24 months. The effective cost is $375 per month, $6 less than the Versa, with a $3,499 due at signing.
Given the IONIQ 5's $48,775 MSRP, the lease offer is difficult to resist. The monthly payment is even lower than that of the most affordable automobile in the United States.
Hyundai can provide a low monthly payment by including $10,000 in lease currency. The 2024 IONIQ 5 SEL RWD is one of the most efficient and affordable EVs in the US.
Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai America, disclosed in an exclusive interview with Electrek last month that the automaker is "humble and hungry" to distinguish itself from its competitors. It is accomplishing this by providing consumers with long-range, fast-charging electric vehicles at an affordable price, which instills confidence in them.
By the year's conclusion, Hyundai electric vehicle commuters will have access to more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers.
