Lee Min Ho is one of the leading actors in South Korea who is also recognized in most Asian countries and the rest of the world. He is already 32 years old and has been in the entertainment business for 17 years, although his profile says that he is only celebrating his 14th debut anniversary this year.
Min Ho’s actual debut date
The year 2006 has been listed as Lee Min Ho’s official debut year, but not many know that he was already around as early as 2003. He was in EBS’ “Secret Campus” for a minor role and acted alongside Park Bo Young. He was also in “Nonstop 5” and 2005’s “Recipe of Love.”
Since then, he has appeared in many dramas, but it was not until starring as Gu Jun Pyo in “Boys Over Flowers” that he started to get really popular, and this was in 2009. Many predicted that his explosive popularity would dwindle as soon as the F4 craze mellows out, but that was not the case because he continued to succeed and developed a stable acting career.
The “BOF” paved the way for Lee Min Ho to start getting leading roles, and this continued up to this day. In any case, below are other rare facts about “The King: The Eternal Monarch” actor.
Min Ho survived two serious car accidents
It is unbelievable, but Lee Min Ho experienced two car crashes, and they are not even minor ones. In fact, he was exempted from army enlistment because the accident left him with an injury that will affect him throughout his life. But then, he still insisted on serving, so he went through military training and enlisted as a public service soldier.
In a TV show, Jung Il Woo, a very close friend of the actor, revealed that Min Ho stayed in the hospital for a year. To this day, he can still pain on his thigh, where metal pins were placed as it was severely damaged. His second car accident happened on the set of “City Hunter,” but fortunately, his injuries were not as serious as the first mishap.
He is not a drinker
Koreans are known to love drinking so much and it is part of their culture. But Lee Min Ho rarely drinks as he doesn’t really like it. He usually goes out with his friends just to eat out or have coffee in a cafe instead of going to bars or “pojangmacha.”
A dream to be a pro-gamer
Lee Min Ho wants to be a soccer player but he was injured in elementary so he gave it up. He has another dream though and said that if he didn’t become an actor, he would have ended up as a professional gamer. Koreaboo reported that he is a Diamond tier “League of Legend” player which is the second-highest possible rank in the game.
