“Legend of Zelda” developer Nintendo has recently put up some suggestive job posts that might indicate a new game in the storied franchise is being made. What’s more, it’s going to be a 3D title. This could either mean that the company is making an entirely new game in the franchise or it could be the sequel to “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”
The jobs, in question, were posted on the official website of Nintendo with the corresponding descriptions. It would appear that the jobs involve the creation of 3D topography, dungeon design concepts, and general level design. All of the positions that need to be filled are related to “Legend of Zelda,” as well, so it’s a promising development.
Fans of the legendary franchise will likely be thrilled at the idea of another “Legend of Zelda” game coming to the Switch. However, it is also entirely possible for this particular job posting list to pertain to an expansion, VG247 notes. Even though “Breath of the Wild” has been out for quite some time, games have been known to feature DLC long after their release.
Even so, the likeliest scenario pertaining to these job postings is still a new installment to the franchise being developed. Whether or not it is a sequel to “Breath of the Wild” is the question, though, this would be strange. Most “Legend of Zelda” games have been entirely self-contained wherein the story being told in a particular title is exclusive only to that title.
Although all “Legend of Zelda” games do share a common theme, it has been a tradition for Nintendo to keep rehashing the property and experimenting with it to various levels of success. “Breath of the Wild” is undoubtedly the company’s greatest achievement with regards to the franchise. However, there is every chance that the game being developed now would outshine it.
