‘Lucifer’ season 2’s episode 18, titled "The Good, the Bad, and the Crispy," is set to follow Lucifer as he attemptps to subdue his dangerous mother, Charlotte, before things turn deadly. He is set to put Maze in charge of a manhunt to locate Charlotte and Amenadiel after they have gone missing.
The synopsis for "The Good, the Bad, and the Crispy" posted on TV Guide reads, “Season 2 finale. In self-defense, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) accidentally burns a man to death, leaving Lucifer (Tom Ellis) to keep Chloe (Lauren German) from figuring what really happened, so he puts Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) in charge of locating Charlotte and Amenadiel (D. B. Woodside), who have both gone missing. Meanwhile, Lucifer seeks a permanent solution for the ticking-time-bomb that is his mother.”
It seems that Lucifer will have a lot on his hands in the season 2 finale episode after Charlotte accidentally kills off a man in self-defense. He will then task Maze in going on a manhunt for his mother after she disappears with Amenadiel following the incident. Lucifer will also attempt to hide the murder from Chloe while trying to figure out a way to deal with his mother once and for all.
The trailer opens to the main protagonist telling Mum that his brother, the dark-winged angel Amenadiel, possesses the final piece of the Flaming Sword. Charlotte, on the other hand, can’t contain her excitement at the news. It seems that Charlotte would pursue Amenadiel to get her hands on the holy weapon.
By the end of the trailer, Charlotte is battling with her own sons to complete her mission. She insists that Amenadiel give her the last piece of the Flaming Sword to which he replies that she would have to kill him to do so.
It was explained in episode 17, "Sympathy for the Goddess," titled that the Flaming Sword was split into three integral pieced by God himself after Lucifer’s rebellion in fear that his son would use it against him. One of the pieces is Azrael’s Blade of Death while the other is the Medallion of Life, which was left on Earth.
Meanwhile, TV Line reported that Fox decided to cut season 2 short and leave the final four episodes for the upcoming season 3. Co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich revealed, “We have four episodes at the very end that … are going to be completely standalone episodes.” She also teased that one of the new episodes will be a flashback of Lucifer when he first arrived in Los Angeles.
Co-showrunner Joe Henderson also took to Twitter to explain, “[W]e designed this season to be an 18-episode arc because we originally were going to be 18 episodes. But then we got four more! Surprise!... So we decided to create four episodes that let us play around a bit. Dig deeper into the character stories, play with format a bit, etc. We didn’t know whether they’d air this season or next until now. Now we do. So bad news is you need to wait for them. And I know that sucks.”
‘Lucifer’ season 2’s episode 18, titled "The Good, the Bad, and the Crispy," is scheduled to be released on Fox on May 29, 2017. It was directed by Karen Gaviola and written by Ildy Modrovich.
