“Lucifer” season 4 picks up from a major cliffhanger where LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) learned about Lucifer Morningstar’s (Tom Ellis) real identity. As expected, that will affect her on a certain level and fans will be able to see how once the series premieres in May.
For a brief recap, the season 3 finale revolved around Chloe and Lucifer’s final face-off with Marcus Pierce a.k.a. Cain (Tom Welling). The latter was killed by the titular protagonist. However, Lucifer’s final conversation with Pierce filled him with anger since the villain killed Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer) and almost did it to Chloe, too. This caused Lucifer’s real devil face to appear and apparently realizing it only when Chloe sees it for herself. “Lucifer” season 4 will most likely pick up from this revelation and show how she would be handling this new information.
Even before “Lucifer” season 4 premieres, TVLine was told by cast member Rachael Harris, known as Dr. Linda Martin in the show, how Chloe's reaction is going to be. Apparently, the LAPD detective will soon cope with the fact that he has been working with the actual devil and later finds out that Lucifer is not her only supernatural friend.
At some point in “Lucifer” season 4, Harris revealed that Chloe will tell Mazikeen a.k.a. “Maze” (Lesley-Ann Brandt) she has assumed everyone around her is not human. But Maze will correct her by casually saying Dr. Linda is actually human. Talking to Maze, “[Chloe's] like, ‘You don’t know the pressure of being the only human that knows this…,’ and Maze is like, ‘Well, I’ve got to be honest, Linda took it a lot better than you did,'” Harris teased. “And Chloe’s like, ‘Wait, what?!'”
Meanwhile, after months of waiting, Netflix has finally announced when “Lucifer” season 4 will premiere. In a trailer that would make many Tom Ellis fans scream, it was confirmed that the 10-episode season will start streaming on Wednesday, May 8.
