Malaysia Airlines will increase flights to Haneda and Tokyo Narita to accommodate the surge in passenger demand, effective Nov 1.
Flights to Haneda will increase from twice weekly to thrice weekly, and to Tokyo Narita from five times weekly to a daily service.
The airline increased the frequency of flights to Osaka from thrice to five times weekly early in October.
The routes will be serviced by A350 or A330 aircraft.
According to Group CEO of Malaysia Airlines, Captain Izham Ismail, they hope the additional services on the Japanese routes will rebuild traffic between the two nations quickly and spur economic growth, whilst helping business and trade.
The frequency increase will facilitate the airline’s capacity recovery to more than 70 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
