McDonald's announced its latest celebrity collaboration and this time, it is featuring Mariah Carey who is also known for her hit holiday song piece, "All I Want for Christmas is You." This continues to top the music charts every year and has become one of the best-selling tracks of all time so she is the perfect partner for the holidays.
It was reported that McDonald's aim is to raise its sales for the season through its partnership with the singer. The fast-food chain revealed its deal with Mariah Carey on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
McDonald's said that it would be teaming up with the 52-year-old pop superstar to promote McDonald's 12 days of deals next month. As mentioned on CNBC, she is the latest celebrity to partner with the company to highlight some of its menu items.
Previously, the fast-food giant collaborated with the South Korean superstar boy band, BTS, and it was a huge hit. The team-up brought big profits to the company as fans around the world lined up to get their BTS meal sets.
In any case, most of McDonald's collaborations with celebrities do well so with Mariah Carey for the holidays. The burger joint is expecting the same hot response from customers and fans. Also, while the collabs only feature one type of meal, Carey will be getting an entire menu lineup named after her.
The McDonald's new Mariah Menu will arrive on Dec. 13 in the United States and for 12 days, customers who spend at least $1 by ordering through the restaurant's app will be receiving the day's free menu item. These will be packaged in festive bags especially designed for the Mariah menu promo.
The deals for this holiday promo are expected to raise the sales from digital orders. This may also push customers to register for the company's loyalty program that already boasts of 21 million members with 15 million being active users.
"Mariah goes with the holidays like ketchup and fries, so we couldn't think of a better partner to help us celebrate the upcoming season," McDonald's USA vice president, US marketing, brand content and engagement, Jennifer Healan, said in a press release. "Just like McDonald's brings people around the table with their favorite orders, Mariah's music connects us all during this time of the year. We're so excited to team up to bring even more holiday cheer to our fans."
