Part of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s announcement to step down as senior members of the British royal family was their intention to become financially independent. A recent report suggests that the couple is unlikely to have problems to accomplish that as their net worth could reach $10 billion.
Expert predicts $10 billion net worth for Meghan Markle, Prince Harry
Earlier this year, there have been reports that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s combined net worth as a financially-independent royal couple is at least $30 million. That is obviously very far from the predicted $10 billion value, but experts believe their recent business investments and media content creation ventures are signs that the projected figure is plausible.
“The way you become multi-billionaires is you get involved before the shares explode,” Professor Johnathan Shalit of InterTalent Rights Group told Newsweek. Shalit added that many companies and startups would likely want to have Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s names attached to their products to “create other investors and other shareholders.” Shait, however, notes that the $10 billion figure is a predicted “trajectory” and might take up to 10 years to happen.
How can Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s net worth reach $10 billion?
One of the recent and highly reported business investments that the couple made this year was to a California-based wellness company called Clevr Blends known for its oat-milk drinks called “SuperLattes” products. Meghan Markle confirmed the investment she made to the company emphasizing that the move was made to support a “passionate female entrepreneur,” per a report on Fortune earlier this month.
Before the couple’s interest in making investments to their choice of business was made known, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also made headlines for inking a deal with Netflix that is rumored to be worth up to $100 million. The royal couple is also launching their own podcast program, through their new production company Archewell Audio, following a multi-year deal with Spotify. The podcast, which will premiere in 2021, is expected to be released for free but Shalit eyes that it could bring in $25 million for the couple every year.
