Shortly before Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex was married to Prince Harry in May 2018, it became clear that she does not have the best relationship with her father. Over the weekend, Prince Harry’s in-laws issued another statement, this time, wanting even Queen Elizabeth II to get involved so they could have a big family reunion.
Meghan Markle’s half-brother has a request to the Queen and Prince Charles
The family issues had clearly continued, especially after the wedding when Meghan’s father and other paternal relatives went on several news outlets to give an interview detailing their estranged relationship. Now, after Meghan and Prince Harry welcomed their first baby named Archie, her half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. demand that the Duchess should address the family conflict.
Markle told The Mirror that he hopes Archie’s birth has made Meghan “mature enough” to realize the significance of family. In the same interview, Prince Harry’s estranged brother-in-law added, “I think the Queen should step in and tell Meghan to make amends with her father and family. Charles should step in and say, ‘Something’s not right.'”
Meghan’s brother even suggested that the royal family should “force” Prince Harry’s wife into facing them, or else her problems will only “continue.” Markle also took a shot at the previously reported expenses that the Sussex royals spent to renovate their new home in Windsor. Official documents showed earlier this year that over $3 million was allocated for refurbishing the Frogmore Cottage where Meghan and Prince Harry moved shortly before Archie’s birth in May.
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry not great with public relations?
Aside from Meghan’s family, the royal couple is also facing some unflattering issues following claims that they want as little interaction with the public as possible. It was recently reported that the Sussex royals allegedly gave a list of instructions to their Windsor neighbors.
A source of The Sun claimed that Meghan and Prince Harry prohibit their neighbors from starting a conversation with them — not even a nice “Good Morning” or other pleasantries. They are also allegedly quite protective of their dogs and do not want neighbors to pet them or even offer to walk them. Asking to see baby Archie is also purportedly not allowed.
However, an official representative of the Buckingham Palace said that Meghan and Prince Harry had no idea about the list of instructions and did not issue them. Meanwhile, The Sun added in an update that the Palace suggested an “overly protective palace official” was the one behind the guidelines.
