When it comes to First Lady Melania Trump, many often draw comparisons between her and her predecessors. But it seems like Melania may have indeed tried to take cues from the First Ladies that came before her, as during her husband Donald Trump’s inauguration in 2017, she was wearing an outfit similar to a former First Lady.
While it is not bad by any means to take inspiration from former First Ladies, many have noticed that Melania may be doing it a little too much to the extent that it may almost be an exact copy. Politicalflare reports that Melania’s inauguration day outfit is almost identical to an outfit once worn by former First Lady Jackie Kennedy. While the colors of both First Ladies’ inauguration outfits were the same, Melania’s ensemble matched Jackie’s pink outfit.
But that is not the only thing people have noticed. Shortly after Melania launched her anti-bullying initiative called Be Best, some have also noticed that she may have taken that from another First Lady, Michelle Obama. Michelle was known for addressing the men during the White House Summit in 2016 and saying “Be better.”
It also bears noting that Melania also copied parts of Michelle’s 2008 Democratic Convention speech into her own address at the Republican National Convention back in 2016. Along with the name of the initiative and the speech, parts of Melania’s campaign were also compared by eagle-eyed netizens on social media and found that the First Lady’s booklet was filled with parts taken from the Obamas’ booklet during their administration, but with some differences in the introduction.
Meanwhile, the White House recently released a photo of Donald and Melania to commemorate the couple’s 15th wedding anniversary. The photo showed the couple dancing as a band plays in the background. Melania was wearing what looked like the floor-length white dress she was seen wearing in the White House Congressional Ball back in 2018. Many people have commented their well-wishes for the couple, congratulating them on their 15 years of marriage on the White House social media accounts. Some even shared photos of the couple with the same kind of captions.
