Microsoft will be launching the Surface Book 3 and the Surface Go 2 this coming Spring based on recent reports. There won’t be major design changes to the exteriors of both devices, according to Petri. However, buyers can expect the internal components of both devices to be upgraded to make them competitive in their respective niches.
Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3 release date
The report claims that both devices could be unveiled by Spring this year. Digital Trends also gave the same prediction, saying that the Surface Book 3 could be launched at a New York City event in spring 2020, which is around the same time it launched the upgraded Surface Book 2 last April.
Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3 price
There might be a minor increase for the Surface Go 3 price compared to the previous model. The current-gen Surface Book 2 starts at $1,200 for the 13.5-inch model and around $2,500 for the 15-inch option. On the other hand, the Surface Book 3 price could start at $1,400 for the 13.5-inch version. Meanwhile, the Surface Go 2 is expected to be priced around $400 as it is targeted for budget-conscious shoppers, according to LaptopMag.
Surface Book 3 specs
The current Book 2 specs are considered a bit outdated already. Thankfully, there are talks that the Surface Book 3 will feature a 10th generation Intel processor as well as Nvidia’s 16-Series GTX GPUs.
Considering that the Surface Laptop 3 and the Surface Pro 7 already feature Intel’s Ice Lake processors, it isn’t hard to imagine that the Surface Book 3 will be equipped with the same chip as well. Meanwhile, the upgrade to Nvidia 16-series GTX GPUs will make the upcoming gadget even better as a gaming device.
A higher-end model, which is likely the 15-inch version of the Surface Book 3, might be packed with Nvidia Quadro series graphics cards. Since this option is expected to jack up its already steep price even further, this high-end version might be more suitable for those who want the device for professional use.
The current-gen Surface Book 2 features up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. The Surface Book 3 is going to outshine its predecessor in this area as there are options of up to 32GB of RAM according to reports.
