The beta version of “Minecraft Earth” is now in full swing and players who are lucky enough to get an early invite to play the game are already producing a lot of content on the web. This is despite the fact that the beta version doesn’t offer much in terms of gameplay.
At its current form, “Minecraft Earth” only offers three things: building, harvesting, and exploring real-world locations to find Tappables. Tappables is to “Minecraft Earth,” what PokeStop is to “Pokémon GO.”
It yields items essential in constructing megastructures and mobs that can populate these creations. But apart from the aforementioned gameplay mechanics, what other content will make “Minecraft Earth” stands out from other VR games?
Enter what’s being called as Adventures. Adventures are quests in “Minecraft Earth” that offers satisfying rewards to players who are able to finish it, TheVerge reported.
Minecraft Earth can and will punish players hard
It’s highly encouraged that people take on Adventures as a group since it’s going to be teeming with monsters and other hidden dangers. Add the fact that “Minecraft Earth” will taking away your accumulated treasures should you happen to perish during one of these quests and it makes multiplayer essentially mandatory.
Microsoft said that one of the tenets of the game is to bring people together and create an experience that’s not only unique but immersive. “Minecraft Earth” does that with Adventures as it requires teamwork to go through a dungeon without a party member getting left behind. These points of interests will appear throughout the world, and interacting with it is as simple as clicking a button.
Minecraft Earth Adventures requires tight cooperation
What’s really fun about this mechanics is that players will be able to battle out various monsters in real-time and in the real world. And similar to other MMORPGs, formation is key, whether you form a line with your friends or have them guard your back while you guard theirs. “Minecraft Earth” beta players will play a significant part for these Adventures as they’ll be the one sending Microsoft the necessary data where to place these quests to provide an optimal experience.
As for when the game will be available, nothing has been confirmed as of this writing. However, Microsoft did say that it will definitely come out this year, likely in the latter parts of 2019. The good news is that new information will be revealed by Edge Magazine tomorrow as they sat down with the people of Mojang and talked extensively about “Minecraft Earth,” Gamesradar reported.
