More Details On The Elon Musk Brain/AI Union Project To Be Revealed Soon

When it was revealed that one of Elon Musk’s companies called Neuralink would be looking into merging artificial intelligence with the human brain, it caused quite a stir in the media and the tech industry. The idea itself isn’t new, but plastering the name of one of the most influential figures in the world on the concept makes it a whole lot more plausible. New details just came out about the project, which provides more insight into what Musk is trying to achieve.

Shortly after the details about what Musk wanted to do with Neuralink, he confirmed that this was indeed the case. He also promised that more information would be shared with the public via the website Wait But Why, Futurism reports. The details would be delivered via 36,000-word post and it will be written by the site’s author, Tim Urban.

In a recent Tweet, Urban announced that the post or the “800-pound hippo,” as he called it is almost done. It is supposedly scheduled to be released on Monday, April 17th, according to the update that he posted on the website. Urban is quite humble about the whole affair, but many have high expectations of his work.

In any case, Musk is not the only one who has a company currently looking into making the human brain capable of competing with AI. Another is Bryan Johnson, the founder of Braintree. His company is Kernal, which is currently working on something called neuroprosthesis, the idea of which is to boost the cognitive and self-repair capabilities of the human brain.

In a recent interview with Futurism, Johnson explains that their work with the human brain presents one of the biggest opportunities for expansion right now. It holds the potential to shape the future of humanity itself.

“Being able to systematically and intelligently work with our neural code is the most consequential and pressing opportunity in the world today,” Johnson said. “All that we are, all that we do, all that we become will be a result of our progress.”
