CBS recently released a new preview clip on Twitter for “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 episode 2. In the short video, fans are treated to a heart-warming reunion between Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team. But something seems to be going on behind Pride's return to home base in the preview clip.
This is the reunion we've been waiting for! But something tells us Pride isn't just in the office to drop off some pastries... ???? #NCISNOLA pic.twitter.com/DuG1As62Kh

In the “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 episode 2 scene, Tammy (Vanessa Ferlito) and LaSalle (Lucas Black) are surprised to see their boss back at home base so soon after the shooting. Lund (Rob Kerkovich) emotionally hugs Pride, just happy that his boss is still alive after seeing the crime scene. Pride carries with him a box of cupcakes which he tells the team he was simply going to drop off in the pantry.

Fans will remember the “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 episode 2 preview trailer that was released a few days ago featuring Necar Zadegan as the show's new series regular, Special Agent Hannah Khoury. It looks like Pride is at home base to butter up the team for his new replacement. The preview trailer show's Pride introducing Khoury as the team's new boss to a confused Tammy.
News of Zadegan's entry as a new series regular was already public for a couple of weeks with rumors surrounding her character potentially replacing Scott Bakula's Dwayne Pride. While it looks like Khoury will be replacing Pride as team lead in “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 episode 2, fans don't have to worry about Pride leaving the show anytime soon. Fans will remember that Pride may take some time off after his close brush with death to consult with an old friend, to be played by Geoffrey Owens.
Fans looking forward to how Dwayne Pride and his team handle the changing of the guard can catch “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 episode 2 when it airs tonight, Oct. 2.
