Looks like “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 Episode 6 is going to get viewers into the spirit of Halloween. According to the official episode synopsis, someone will attempt to kidnap Pride’s (Scott Bakula) assistant, Ginny Young (Christina Smith), but she manages to escape.
Well, it’s a good thing she did because the team will find evidence that the perpetrator actually has something nefarious in mind when he tried to abduct her. Apparently, he is kidnapping people so he can harvest their organs. That is something that should send chills down anyone’s spine.
Titled “Pounds of Flesh,” “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 Episode 6 will also show Pride continue to struggle psychologically after his brush with death last season, and he will turn to an old friend named Commander Calvin Atkins, M.D. (Geoffrey Owens) for help.
As noted by CarterMatt, CBS seemed to have missed an opportunity here by not promoting “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 Episode 6 further with Owens as a guest star. Promos centered on the former “Cosby Show” actor’s inclusion in the episode would have attracted a lot of attention after he was shamed for working at Trader Joe's a few months ago.
“Given that his story dominated the headlines earlier this year, that could have been a chance to get some viewers who found him endearing and wanted to root for him to succeed,” the team at CarterMatt noted.
Well, it appears that Owens’ career is on the rise again and executive producer Christopher Silber has noted that viewers may see more of Commander Atkins in the future. “We admired Geoffrey’s work, and we’re always on the lookout for the perfect marriage of actor and role. We certainly see a future where Commander Atkins joins the rotation of familiar faces who return," Silber said, via TV Insider.
“NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 Episode 6 is scheduled to air on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. Don’t forget to check out Owens in his debut as Commander Atkins.
