Paramount and RECUR will be releasing the very first Star Trek NFT collection, and this was confirmed this week. The digital assets will be dropped on April 9.
As mentioned in Crypto Times, the Star Trek non-fungible tokens will be put up for sale, and these will be sold in two-pack options, which are the Admiral & Captain. Each of them will contain an algorithmically generative 1:1 starship NFT.
Paramount and RECUR’s partnership for the Star Trek NFT drop will offer 20,000 Star Trek digital tokens, and these will be released with 2,000 in reserve. It was added that the collection would be stored and put on display in “Star Trek Continuum,” which was described as a space where all future Star trek drops will be housed.
For this new NFT collection, Paramount Global and RECUR have teamed up for their first collaboration in a multi-year agreement. The latter is a technology company that designs and develops on-chain branded experiences that allow fans to buy, collect, and re-sell digital products, while the former is one of the famous brands and mass media companies that also owns the beloved “Star Trek” show and movie franchises.
It was shared that Paramount and RECUR’s goal for their team-up is to produce digital tokes and distribute popular content on the internet for fans to enjoy and appreciate. The media firm also wants to bring its entertainment brands and famous characters to the metaverse through its deal with RECUR.
“Fans should be able to engage with our content wherever they are, including the metaverse. Paramount.xyz will offer one seamless digital collectible experience for fans across our key franchises, starting with Star Trek, an iconic franchise that is forward-thinking, innovative, and multi-generational, Paramount’s president of consumer products and experiences, Pam Kaufman, said in a press release. “We are thrilled to have a space that is accessible to everyone and allows another expression of fandom.”
Meanwhile, the Star Trek NFTs will be sold on April 9, and these will be on the Continuum for 24 hours only, starting at 11 a.m. EST. Both the Admiral and Captain NFT packs are priced at $25
