Sean Wotherspoon, a sneaker designer and collector based in Los Angeles, is launching his very first digital wearable collection on the metaverse platform for creating digital fashion and collectibles called MNTGE.
Sean Wotherspoon is also known as the designer of Nike’s Air Max 97/1 sneakers, and now he is jumping into the digital space with his wearable collection. It was said that the collection is composed of 3,100 pieces of digital collectibles, and the designs were inspired by the vintage pieces in his own archive. The designs were described as a blended inspiration from the past and future worlds.
As per CoinDesk, the virtual wearable collection is set to be released to holders of the Day One non-fungible token (NFT) mint passes that were rolled out in December 2022. To date, the collection has earned 773 Ethereum (ETH) or about $1.1 million in sales, and currently, it has a floor selling price of 0.45 ETH, which is around $735.
All in all, Wotherspoon presented four designs of the digital vintage wearables, including three ink bottles. The inks will allow owners to personalize their wearables.
The new collection also features rarity tiers that are embedded in the pieces. It was added that there is a possibility that in the future, holders will be able to choose if they want to keep the NFTs as it is or combine them to form a new, rarer non-fungible token.
“We wanted people to put their spin on it,” Wotherspoon told Forbes via email when comparing the customization of the shoes he designs. “When you buy my shoes, that is not the end of the road. It is the beginning of the journey because there is always something more for you to discover and the ability to transform an NFT and hold a certain level of customization in your hands as the consumer, is huge.”
