HOLLYWOOD, Fla., April 12, 2018 -- NV5 Global, Inc. (Nasdaq:NVEE) (“NV5” or the “Company”), a professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions provider, accepted a diamond award at ACEC New York’s Annual Engineering Excellence Awards Gala on April 7th at the Hilton Midtown in New York City. NV5 and client New York Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) were recognized for work on the Fresh Kills Park Roads project at Fresh Kills Park, Staten Island. Linda Reardon, PE, Senior Vice President of NV5’s East Coast Infrastructure group, served as co-chair for the Gala.
The project included preliminary design for a transportation network across Freshkills Park. Once realized, this network of roadways will provide access to the park while also easing traffic congestion. The plan was completed in 2015 and remains a critical goal in the development of Freshkills Park.
“With the successful implementation of the transportation network developed under this study,” Joseph Menzer, PE, NV5 Project Manager said, “the landfill transformation into a park will take on many more dimensions, including a self-sustaining economic generator, transportation hub, and alternative evacuation route.”
Dickerson Wright, PE, Chairman and CEO of NV5 said, “This prestigious engineering award is an example of the level of expertise of our professionals and of the contributions NV5 is making to local communities.”
