Naver Cloud has joined forces with Singapore’s StarHub telecommunication company to offer edge cloud computing-based 5G network services. The companies inked a deal this week for a strategic alliance that will allow them to provide advanced 5G network service in Southeast Asia.
South Korea’s Naver Cloud and StarHub will also work together to develop cloud computing technologies. As per The Korea Economic Daily, the latter has been providing communications, entertainment, and various content services to individuals and corporate clients for more than 20 years now so the cloud computing arm of Naver Corp. is very confident in their partnership.
The Singaporean telecom firm recently dived into a Cloud Infinity transformation and plans to take on a highly scalable and access-agnostic hybrid cloud new architecture. In any case, Naver Cloud will apply its own experience and technology acquired through the creation of Naver’s HQ’s private 5G network to the public 5G network in Singapore.
Together, Naver Cloud and StarHub also plan to develop ultra-low latency cloud, communications, and entertainment services that will be part of the latter’s new Cloud Infinity program. Furthermore, the deal they had signed indicated an agreement in the managed service provider (MSP) sector that delivers an array of services, including security, network, infrastructure, and application.
“Having embarked on DARE+ in 2021, we have reached the point where we are no longer just achieving project milestones, but going beyond telco to set new benchmarks for the entire industry,” StarHub’s chief technology officer, Ayush Sharma, said in a press release. “Maximising agility, Cloud Infinity will serve as a cradle of innovation for our enterprise and consumer businesses, allowing us to deliver the market’s most unique, meaningful, and enriching products and services with speed and reliability.”
He added that they are “pleased to work with Naver Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and Nokia to deploy this new network architecture, doubling down on digital to realize growth without frontiers, and reimagining what StarHub can be for our customers, partners, and stakeholders.”
