When the game was unveiled at E3 2017, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed: Origins would be set in ancient Egypt. Thanks to the release of the newest trailer for the game, fans now have a much better grasp of when exactly during the sand empire’s time players will get to roam in this sandbox title. The video featured both Queen Cleopatra herself and Rome’s Mark Anthony.
The trailer was revealed during the 2017 Gamescom event hosted by Microsoft, PlayStation Lifestyle reports. The video was basically a rundown of the historical figures that players can expect to either run into or would play an important part in the game.
It continues the franchise’s tradition of introducing relevant historical characters that lend weight and credibility to the games, from King Richard the Lionheart to Queen Victoria. This time around, the developers have gone further than they have ever gone with the property and changed a lot about the games, but these interesting tidbits seem to be sticking around.
What makes the revelation of the game during the event more intriguing, however, is the fact that it comes at the heels of Ubisoft and Microsoft making a deal to turn the Xbox One X version of the game into its most visually and mechanically power console version. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently confessed to making such a deal, Game Spot reports, which should give the PlayStation 4 Pro pause.
This was just the natural course to take, though, since the developers would obviously want to make sure that they take advantage of any platform’s full capabilities with relevant features. Publishers and studios have already been doing this with the PC for over a decade, providing players using the platform with extensive options with regards to the graphics setting and the key binding.
