Ahead of “Game of Thrones” return on the small screen in July this year, the show decides to treat its fans with new stills about the fantasy drama’s seventh season.
The photo still, which sums up to a grand total of 15, confirms some things, and even teases some more about the show, Buzzfeed notes.
One still shows Daenerys Targayen (Emilia Clarke) and her crew finally landing in Westeros. After building an army, which includes Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Varys (Conleth Hill), and making the long sea voyage, she is seen arriving at Westeros, with her and her entourage wearing strong, somber leather outfits that are ready for battle.
Meanwhile, fans of Ned Stark (Sean Bean) will applaud the show’s costume designers for paying homage to the fallen character via Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) outfit. Aside from looking stately as King in the North and Lord of Winterfell, The Hollywood Reporter said. The massive fur coat and cape and the double X body armor suit will have one recall Ned Stark’s iconic image.
On the other hand, it was interesting to see Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) reunited with his “Mad Queen” sister Cersei (Lena Headey), who now sits on the Iron Throne. Considering Jaime’s role concerning his sister in the books, we will probably have to wait for the show to premiere to confirm what Jaime’s plans are for siding with Cersei aside from his “Lannisters First” policy.
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 will return to HBO on July 16.
