The Motorola Moto Z smartphones just got a really interesting mod. Called the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod, it’s basically a mod that turns the phones into polaroid cameras. Of all the mods that are available for the devices, this accessory is one of the most sensible, simply because it’s something that customers will not get anywhere else.
The selection of mods for the Moto Z includes an extra battery pack, speakers, cameras, and even a projector. All of them can simply be slapped onto the back of the phone, where a magnetic setup will secure the two parts as one. While this latest addition that turns the phones into portable cameras won’t be a global sensation, it does make sense as a mod, TechCrunch reports.
Among the features of the mod is the ability to print photos captured by the device’s camera on a 2x3-inch photo paper, which is only to be expected. However, other pictures already stored on the phone can also be printed out. The same goes for photos taken from Google, Facebook, or any other site that allows for the printing of the image. Basically, it acts like a printer, but on a phone.
It will become available to U.S. customers via Verizon or at Motorola.com, The Verge reports, for the price of $199.99. The cost is an unfortunate aspect of this mod, simply because some Polaroid cameras cost only $99 or $70.
This is pretty much part of the course with regards to Moto Z attachments, however, since many of its other mods are priced in the same range. There is much to be gained from using the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod for those who already have the phone and want to get more out of it. However, they would need to decide if the advantages justify the cost.
