A trusted Nintendo insider has shaken up the rumor mill by confirming that the Switch 2 is still on track to be revealed in 2024. Fans who feared a delay can now expect the announcement to come before the year's end.
Nintendo Switch 2 Announcement Still Set for 2024
According to a famous leaker, the Nintendo Switch 2 will still be unveiled in 2024. Fans who were worried that Nintendo would delay the announcement of the highly awaited system might find some solace in this claim, GameRant reports.
During its current fiscal year, which ends in March 2025, the Japanese gaming giant announced in May that it plans to formally unveil the Switch 2. Subsequent speculation indicated that the highly anticipated announcement might take place before 2024's close.
Leaker Reassures Fans About Switch 2 Reveal
A Nintendo insider claims that the reveal of the Switch 2 is still scheduled for 2024. In response to these concerns, journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe of Brazil stated in a recent Famiboards post that the unveiling of the Switch 2 is still expected to take place before the end of the year. "I still think it's being announced this year, yes," the insider wrote.
While he was about it, he teased Nintendo fans for requiring these renewed promises from him on "the third of October," implying that his earlier prediction of a 2024 announcement timeframe could yet come true.
Past Leaks Create Uncertainty for Fans
While several leakers have made unfounded assertions regarding the Switch's replacement in the past, Lippe is not one of them. Quite the opposite, the Brazilian journalist is responsible for breaking the news that Nintendo has delayed the launching of the Switch 2 until 2025, so his record with the company is modest but quite constant. According to several reliable sources, that scoop remains the largest Switch 2 leak of the year thus far.
Having said that, Lippe has still had less than stellar results when it comes to Nintendo leaks. For example, he recently admittedly lied about a Nintendo Direct taking place in April 2024, saying he was too anxious to announce the news without verifying it. However, there are other sources besides Lippe's claims that suggest Nintendo's next system could be announced in late 2024.
New Details Suggest Switch 2 Manufacturing Progress
Some real-life pictures of what appears to be the Switch 2's chassis and printed circuit board have surfaced online after a parts supplier's recent outright statement that mass manufacturing would begin in September.
