Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to launch with a dual-screen design, advanced AI capabilities, and a $400 price tag. Reports hint at a game-changing experience with enhanced screen and performance features.
Nintendo Switch 2 to Feature Dual-Screen, AI, and $400 Price
Market rumors have claimed that the Switch 2 will include a bigger screen, longer battery life, enhanced performance, and "AI functions," according to Taiwan Economic Daily. There is evidence of improved "screen processing" in the machine translation of the original Chinese text as well.
Some previous speculations have suggested that the Switch 2's display will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, so this could be a reference to that.
Dual-Screen May Resemble Nintendo DS, but Sources Are Skeptical
Amusingly, the article also notes that the Nintendo Switch 2 has a "dual-screen" feature. This seems to be indicating a design similar to the Nintendo DS at first sight. Considering Nintendo's extensive library of DS and 3DS games that may be ported to the next-gen Switch, this is certainly within the realm of possibilities, but it is highly improbable.
Notebookcheck reports that no reliable source has mentioned that the Switch 2 would have two screens, therefor, it's safe to assume that it won't be a dual-screen system like the DS.
The "dual-screen" description of Switch 2 suggests it may include features similar to those of Wii U.
Wii U GamePad Brought Dual-Screen Innovation to Nintendo
In November 2012, Nintendo introduced the Wii U, the successor to the highly successful Nintendo Wii. The innovative system combined a conventional TV-connected box with a "Wii U GamePad" controller that had an integrated screen. This would allow for a dual-screen experience when using the Wii U GamePad with a TV.
There will likely be some cool party gimmicks, like a split game user interface, on the Switch 2 if it has a dual-screen function similar to the Wii U.
Leaked Price Suggests $400 for Nintendo Switch 2 Console
Taiwan Economic Daily has reported both hardware details and a $400 price tag for the Nintendo Switch 2.
In our reporting from the previous week, we suggested that $400, assuming it is actually the correct MSRP of the next-generation Switch, is a reasonable price for the console. This is in accordance with our findings from that week.
