“Now You See Me 3” has yet to be released even after years of waiting. The second film arrived in theaters in 2016 so the long gap between the previous and upcoming installments is apparent. Despite the wait, fans can expect something good as the third movie has already been in the planning stage since 2015.
Variety reported that shortly after the filming for "Now You See Me 2" wrapped up, the third sequel was immediately put on the planning table. Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer revealed this information via a conference call.
The CEO added that the swift move is part of their strategy to be able to focus more on one of the studio’s latest blockbuster movie franchises. With the confirmation of “Now You See Me 3,” fans will probably see the Four Horsemen in another big heist and of course, they are expected to pull it off without a glitch. They may also get some help to complete their missions, so some new faces may show up to provide some aid to the team.
Cast and New Face
The main cast should return for “Now You See Me 3,” including Mark Ruffalo (Dylan Rhodes), Woody Harrelson (Merritt McKinney), Jesse Eisenberg (J. Daniel Atlas), Dave Franco (Jack Wilder), Morgan Freeman (Thaddeus Bradley) and Michael Caine (Arthur Tressler).
Lizzy Caplan replaced Isla Fisher (Henley Reeves) and OtakuKart reported that “Sherlock” actor Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in the modern illusion-themed heist drama. His role is still unknown but it will be either an ally or a foe.
Meanwhile, Fisher chose to let go of her role following a dangerous stunt in the original “Now You See Me” film. The scene almost took her life, so it is likely a big factor as to why she decided not to return anymore. Director Jon M. Chu will take the helm with writers Neil Widener and Gavin James.
Release Date
According to Movie News Guide, “Now You See Me 3” has been scheduled to be released in 2019. The cast will be star-studded and the producers are expecting it to do very well.
