Jordan Brand has unveiled official images of the Air Jordan 1 High “Satin Shadow,” set to release on October 24. This highly anticipated edition follows the iconic 1985 "Shadow" colorway. Meanwhile, Jordan’s best new 2024 basketball shoe, the Jordan Heir, is gearing up for a Holiday debut.
Jordan Brand to Release Air Jordan 1 High ‘Satin Shadow’ on October 24th, Building Hype
In February, it was revealed that Jordan Brand would continue its satin Air Jordan 1 series by releasing a new "Shadow" edition. Five months later, official retailer images have surfaced alongside confirmation of an October 24th release date, building anticipation among fans of the popular design.
Much like last year's AJ1 Satin Bred, the new shoe closely follows the original "Shadow" colorway from 1985, with one notable difference—the soles are grey instead of black. The toe box, Swoosh, ankle flaps, and heel are presented in grey, while the remainder of the upper appears in black. Though such reimagined takes on classic Air Jordan 1 colorways can stir discontent among sneaker purists, satin models have consistently garnered attention. For instance, Aleali May’s satin-heavy AJ1 “Shadow” collaboration from 2017 sells for over $800 on the secondary market.
The Air Jordan 1 High “Satin Shadow” is set to drop on October 24th, likely in women’s sizing, and will retail for $180—similar to the “Satin Bred” pair. Official images of the upcoming release have been revealed before its debut on SNKRS and at Jordan retailers.
Jordan Brand Unveils New Unisex Basketball Shoe, the Jordan Heir, Ahead of Holiday 2024 Release
In a separate development, Nike Basketball launched its first-ever unisex hoops shoe last year, and by the Holiday 2024 season, Jordan Brand will have done the same. First previewed in July, the upcoming Jordan Heir continues to appear in new colorways ahead of its official release. The latest iteration comes in a black and red palette, a nod to the brand's Chicago heritage.
According to Sneaker News, the Jordan Heir, designed in collaboration with Jordan Brand-sponsored athletes, will be available in unisex sizing but is specifically tailored to meet the needs of women's basketball players. The shoe’s design is reminiscent of Russell Westbrook’s signature Jordan models, featuring a TPU cage that extends from the sole to the eyelets and wraps around the heel for added foot stability during crossovers. Beneath the cage, the base is composed of various mesh fabrics in shades of "University Red," "Gym Red," and "Infrared 23." Further performance details are expected to be announced closer to the release.
With the WNBA playoffs just around the corner, Jordan Brand will likely likely showcase the Jordan Heir on one of their sponsored athletes. For the general public, the Jordan Heir is slated to hit stores during the Holiday 2024 shopping season at a retail price of $110. Official images of the "Black/University Red-Gym Red-Infrared 23" colorway have been released, and fans can preview more upcoming releases on the Jordan Release Dates page.
