The events in “One Piece” Episode 867 are going to prove to be among the most interesting yet in the Cake Island arc. Stemming from the increasing level of respect that Katakuri has for Luffy, it would seem that the Sweets commander is going to take his enemy’s side in the upcoming episode. Will he actually turn on Big Mom and his siblings?
As viewers of the anime would be well-aware of by now, Luffy and Katakuri have been fighting for a very long time. These two have been at it for weeks and it seems that every time a resolution is in sight, it goes right back to the beginning. This could change in “One Piece” Episode 867 when Big Mom’s most powerful fighter defends Luffy against his own comrades.
This is due to Katakuri’s honor as a warrior and his belief that a fight between two people is sacred. As the preview clip below shows, however, someone will decide to interfere with that fight even though it is clear that the Sweets commander is winning. This will not sit well with Katakuri and he will make it known to the person who interfered in “One Piece” Episode 867.
The worst part about this particular development, however, is how that same person would later on turn on Katakuri for his appearance. This becomes a turning point for the fight between the Big Mom champion and Luffy, who has been losing, up until this point. “One Piece” Episode 867 will see the two coming to even grounds.
This should come as a relief for those who have been watching this bout go on for so long and have begun to wonder if it is ever going to end. When “One Piece” Episode 867 finally airs on Jan. 6, fans will see just how Katakuri will take Luffy’s side.
