U.S. President Donald Trump is celebrating his first 100 days in office by highlighting major policy shifts and setting ambitious goals for the next phase, White House officials said. Trump, who has moved quickly on domestic and foreign fronts since January 20, plans a rally in Michigan to showcase achievements including economic reforms, immigration crackdowns, and foreign policy changes.
His administration has dismantled diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, scaled back transgender rights, and withheld funding from universities accused of tolerating anti-Semitism. Officials hinted at more bold executive actions ahead, describing "torpedoes under the water" ready to reshape U.S. policy further.
Trump’s aggressive approach has thrilled conservatives but drawn fierce criticism from opponents who argue he is undermining civil rights and straining international alliances. Despite court challenges slowing some initiatives, the White House remains determined to push forward, with a focus on renegotiating trade deals and advancing peace talks, particularly regarding Russia’s war with Ukraine.
While Trump launched broad tariff measures earlier this year, negotiations have slowed, and experts doubt the administration’s goal of securing new agreements within 90 days. Trump is also preparing for an overseas trip next month to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE to strengthen diplomatic ties and continue peace efforts, despite acknowledging that Russian President Vladimir Putin may resist ending the conflict.
Officials describe Trump's early presidency as a "conservative’s dreamscape," with more sweeping changes promised as executive orders continue to drive policy.
