Fans may not realize it now, but “One Piece” Episode 884 might contain some hints as to what the end of the entire franchise might be. In the Reverie gathering, characters whom the Straw Hats have formed strong bonds of friendships with will basically interact and meet each other. These could be the same people who will stand with Luffy and his crew when the final battle is waged.
Now, it’s worth pointing out that “One Piece” Episode 884 will contain some scenes that might disappoint some viewers, OtakuKart reports. These include flashbacks to Alabasta that might be quite familiar to those who have watched everything related to “One Piece,” including the specials. However, these do play an important role in setting up the future of the franchise.
Basically, the chance meetings in “One Piece” Episode 884 will act as something of a preview of all the people who will someday be on opposite sides of the battle. One side is the World Government and the Celestial Dragons that they serve. The other will be the Straw Hats and all of the allies they have made along the way.
Then there is the faction of the revolutionary army, some members of which will likely be seen in “One Piece” Episode 884. From there, it’s just a matter of waiting until the anime goes past the Wano arc until every single development finally pays off. There are no guarantees that this is exactly how it will go, but it does make sense.
The franchise cannot end without Luffy and his friends confronting the broken world they live in, especially with the mysteries of its past still kept buried by the World Government. This is why “One Piece” Episode 884 will be worth watching on May 12. Every little detail will count once the ending arrives.
