“One Piece” chapter 971 will not be coming this week as scheduled. There will be a week break for an undisclosed reason, but still, spoilers for the upcoming story are already here.
Previously, the manga featured the “Oden vs. Kaido” story, and it was quite mind-blowing due to the scenarios and events that took place. Their fight finally happened, but it seems that one of them lost due to an unfair tactic.
Oden’s power
Apparently, Oden is too powerful for Kaido and Orochi, so the two resorted to dirty tricks to capture him. They used Momosuke to blackmail Oden and have him and the nine Scabbards surrender. It was unfortunate that Kaido’s men got Momo, and he was used to defeat Oden.
Of course, Oden surrendered just to save Momo. Kaido hit him with his weapon, and he fell to the ground, so it appeared that Oden was defeated. The sad thing is the fact that it was not Momo after all but the old woman who used her devil fruit powers to transform to Momo’s likeness.
They were tricked, and Oden and his team were imprisoned. They were all scheduled to be executed in three days, but the Scabbards were able to escape with Oden’s help, who chose to remain and was believed to have been executed through the boiling water.
What will happen next?
In “One Piece” chapter 97, Oden was left in the opponent’s turf after he paved the way for his nine companions to escape. The red Scabbards then traveled to 20 years into the future, and by then, Oden is already dead.
Despite this, spoilers posted on Reddit stated that Oden could not have died from the execution. Rather, he could have escaped as well and returned to Wano but died while fighting Orochi, who conquered his land.
Release date
“One Piece” chapter 971 will be out on Feb. 16 instead of Feb. 9. Raw scans will arrive earlier on Feb. 14, so by then, fans can see more spoilers already as per Otakukart. Readers can read the manga through VIZ media and Crunchyroll for free.
