ICASA (Independent Communications Authority of South Africa) and SABS (South African Bureau of Standards), signed a Memorandum of Understanding in March of 2016. This MOU mandates that SABS verify that only products compliant with SANS (South African National Standards) are entering the South African market. As a result, a valid SABS EMC Certificate of Compliance (CoC) is required to enter the market. A new approval program for 3rd party laboratories was implemented which requires an on-site audit to verify compliance of the test laboratory for SANS and EMC regulations.
As a globally renowned solutions provider, TÜV SÜD has strong working relationships with regulators and national certification bodies in key markets. The SABS accreditation will be an instrumental addition to TÜV SÜD’s leadership in Global Market Access.
