According to CNET, the OnePus 6T is currently rumored to be released in October. This mirrors the fall release of the higher-end model that usually launches before the summer that OnePlus has followed since the OnePlus 2 was released back in 2015.
Aside from the potential release date, OnePlus has secured T-Mobile to become the brand's official U.S. exclusive carrier partner when the model releases. Fans of the phone brand can now get a OnePlus 6T along with their T-mobile plans when the new phone comes out. As a mid-range phone that can compete with high-end brands, the OnePlus 6T may be looking at a $550 price tag. The price is not far away from the OnePlus 6's price during its launch of around $530.
While partnering with T-mobile can help OnePlus boost brand awareness across a wide demographic of potential customers, it does not guarantee success for the rising phone brand. It is noted that sales personnel that sell phone plans would sometimes focus on the more popular brand to be able to close a sale. Still, the partnership with T-mobile will give OnePlus the visibility that they need considering their niche market.
While there has yet to be an official unveiling of or announcement about the OnePlus 6T from OnePlus, fans of the phone brand have already created renders of what they hope to see the OnePlus 6T will include. Fans are also hoping that the upgrade from the OnePlus 6 will bring wireless charging, in-screen fingerprint scanning functionality, and the disappearance of the infamous screen notch, which is present on OnePlus' recent OnePlus 6 model. Should manufacturing and planning for the OnePlus 6T go according to schedule, fans of the phone brand can look forward to Q4 of this year for the OnePlus 6T to release.
