It looks like the OnePlus 6T is going to hit the market next month.
Just to be clear, OnePlus still hasn’t announced the official launch date for the OnePlus 6T, but recent reports have claimed that an invitation for the event was leaked on Weibo, the Chinese social media network.
The leaked image revealed that OnePlus 6T would launch on Oct. 17 in India, which doesn’t come as a surprise since it’s supposed to be an exclusive product for Amazon India.
Interestingly, the smartphone’s marketing slogan appears to be “Unlock The Speed,” and many have speculated that it may have something to do with the OnePlus 6T’s in-display fingerprint sensor. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer already confirmed the OnePlus 6T is going to include this feature in an email to CNET earlier this month.
"We unlock our phones multiple times a day, and Screen Unlock reduces the number of steps to complete the action. By adding this feature as an addition to other display unlocking options such as Face Unlock, users will have options to unlock the display in a way that is most efficient for them," OnePlus said in the email.
Other features that are expected in the OnePlus 6T includes a waterdrop shaped notch that is significantly slimmer than the one in the OnePlus 6. The new notch is comparable to the ones in the OPPO R17 and F9 series.
According to the previous leaks, the OnePlus 6T is also rumored to have a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with a 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, and it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. Some reports indicate that the new smartphone will have triple rear cameras, but others say it will come with a dual camera setup at the rear.
The OnePlus 6T is rumored to be water-resistant as well. If that’s the case, the headphone jack will be removed.
