PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 24, 2017 -- Ooma, Inc. (NYSE:OOMA) a leading smart business and home communications platform, today announced that Talkatone, a mobile app that provides free calling and texting over Wi-Fi or a mobile data connection, now offers stickers and emoji within the app. This new feature makes it easier than ever for Talkatone users to create enhanced visual text messages by accessing a rich library of more than 4 million pieces of branded and unbranded sticker and emoji content to add to text messaging conversations.
Additionally, Talkatone now offers the ability to change phone numbers dynamically in the app. This new feature allows users to choose a new phone number from which to call and text in real-time in the app, while preserving existing text conversations and call history from prior phone numbers. As part of this new offering, users receive one free change of phone number and can then purchase additional phone number changes as needed.
Talkatone also supports network handoff, allowing a user who changes networks during a phone call to continue that call uninterrupted. Talkatone’s network handoff works when switching from Wi-Fi to cellular data (or vice versa) and also between Wi-Fi networks.
“We are excited to bring stickers, the ability to dynamically change phone numbers and network handoff to our Talkatone users,” said Eric Stang, CEO of Ooma. “Now all Talkatone customers can communicate with their friends in a rich and expressive way, change their Talkatone phone number as needed and make phone calls on the go without worrying that they'll get disconnected.”
Talkatone is a leading provider of free texting and calling for Android and iOS mobile devices in the US and Canada. Registered Talkatone users get a free US phone number, free SMS and MMS messaging, free universal group picture messaging and free inbound and outbound calling. Users can also purchase calling credits to make international calls.
Talkatone’s stickers, emoji, ability to change phone numbers and network handoff are available for iOS and Android mobile devices in the U.S. and Canada and can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
