The launch of Oppo Find X3 Pro has to be one of the biggest news in the Android smartphone market this week. Aside from its other flagship-level specs, the introduction of a “microlens” sensor is one thing that has been catching plenty of attention.
Oppo Find X3 Pro offers a well-equipped set of cameras
Oppo smartphones have been known for sporting ample camera modules over the years. But the company is outdoing itself with the launch of Oppo Find X3 Pro on Thursday, especially by introducing a microlens packed with extra magnification capabilities. While the microlens is only 3MP on paper, its 60x zoom ability makes it a crucial component of the device’s quad-camera setup.
It is also worth noting that its main cameras, two 50MP wide and ultrawide lenses are supported by the Sony IMX766 sensor. Completing the set is a 13MP telephoto lens with a 2x zoom capacity. Oppo Find X3 Pro can capture videos in 4K 10-bit format. Meanwhile, its selfie camera is a 32MP lens that can capture up to 6560 x 4928 resolution images and 1080p@30fps videos.
While on the subject of rear cameras, it is worth noting that Oppo Find X3 Pro is breaking away from the usual camera bump design. Instead of placing the quad-camera in a sharply embossed part of the casing, the bump is designed with a seamless curve.
Other notable Oppo Find X3 Pro specs
As expected, the Oppo Find X3 Pro is one of the 2021 premium flagship smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 888, so 5G network becomes a standard mobile connectivity option. Oppo also confirmed that the device will support dual-SIM in both 5G.
It sports a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with QHD+ (3216 x 1440) resolution. Oppo Find X3 Pro features 5 to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and can stream HDR 10+ content.
Oppo Find X3 Pro has quite a large battery with 4500mAh power supported by the company’s latest VOOC fast charging solutions. Oppo claims the SuperVOOC flash charging tech enables the device to get 40% battery life in 10 minutes while the AirVOOC should fully recharge the phone in 80 minutes.
The handset will be shipped with the Android 11-based ColorOS 11.2 operating system. The company also gets extra credit for giving attention to some minor details in the device such as working with Grammy and Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer to develop new and exclusive ringtones and notification sounds for Oppo Find X3 Pro.
Oppo Find X3 Pro release date, pricing
Oppo Find X3 Pro will be available in Europe on March 30 for €1,149 or around $1,374. The handset will be sold in Gloss Black and a Blue variant with an anti-glare, matte finish. It comes with just one configuration that combines 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
