Right on schedule, Sony announced the next lineup of free games that PlayStation Plus members can add to their libraries at no additional cost. The list of three titles offered exclusively for subscribers is quite loaded as it includes popular games, such as “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4,” “A Plague Tale: Innocence,” and “WWE 2K Battlegrounds.”
There are plenty of rumors going around that a new “Call of Duty” game is slated to launch later this year. This should be a good opportunity for PS Plus members with PS4 consoles to revisit one of the popular installments of the franchise. The access to “Black Ops 4” via PS Plus will let players join multiplayer matches in three different modes. They will be able to play the game’s standard multiplayer experience, the title’s version of the Zombie mode, and the battle royale-inspired Blackout.
The highly popular survival horror “A Plague Tale: Innocence” will be available for free via PS Plus, but only for PS5 players. This version is promised to run at a 4K resolution, target up to 60 FPS framerate, and deliver faster load times.
To those not familiar with the game, players control the main protagonist named Amicia de Rune from a third-person perspective. It is set in the 1300s at the height of the English Army’s invasion of Aquitaine. Things turned for the worst when authorities blamed Amicia’s family for the spread of a plague. Amicia’s main journey begins when her mother, killed before her, entrusts her with bringing his sick brother to a certain doctor who may have the cure.
“WWE 2K Battlegrounds” is the third new addition to the PS Plus free games in July, and it will be available on PS4 and PS5 via backward compatibility. As the title suggests, it will allow wrestling fans to enter the ring as their favorite WWE personalities. The game also comes with a campaign mode and online tournaments.
These three games will be available to download via PS Plus starting Tuesday, July and until Monday, Aug. 2. Meanwhile, members will have until July 5 to get “Star Wars: Squadrons” and “Operation: Tango.” PS Plus subscription is available starting at $9.99 per month.
