After months of trying, this could be the week that thousands of gaming fans will be able to purchase a PlayStation 5 console. One of the latest PS5 restocks reports suggests that Amazon could have a massive drop any moment now with thousands of consoles in its inventory.
Amazon reportedly had 46,000 PS5 consoles in inventory
Many PlayStation fans once again felt frustrated after thinking they missed the previously reported PS5 restock via Amazon. However, TechRadar’s Matt Swider suggested that the e-commerce giant may have just delayed its anticipated console drop but it could still happen any moment now.
Swider has been one of the reliable sources when it comes to PS5 restocks, and he shared a glimpse into Amazon’s network showing that the drop was originally scheduled to go live on Thursday, March 18, at 2 p.m. UTC / 10 a.m. ET for customers in the United States. However, as of this writing, Amazon has yet to open the PS5 sales.
You didn't miss it. Amazon PS5 restock was scheduled for today 14:00 UTC (10am ET). Could drop any time – it's up to Amazon. Best Buy last Fri was 3hrs late on me. Everyone doubted then too.

The good news? Amazon has a 46,000 PS5 inventory–just waiting. I'll ping u. Info is free pic.twitter.com/c7UGidMjSK
Fans might want to remain patient, though. The same image also shows that Amazon has 46,000 “total inventory” for the PS5 restock that has yet to go live. This means more customers should have better chances at finally getting the PS5 console.
Walmart also had a PS5 restock on Thursday. However, as with previous cases, the console went sold out in just a couple of hours.
How to increase chances of getting the PS5 console
While waiting for Amazon to open the gates for new PS5 orders, gaming fans might want to keep in mind a few reminders to increase their chances of finally getting the sought-after console. First, it would be a great help to keep the notifications on for Twitter updates from pages like Swider’s, YouTuber Jake Randall, @PS5RestockAlert, among others. They often give real-time updates once a PS5 drop is live.
The next thing to do is for buyers to make sure they are logged in to the online stores of retailers with upcoming PS5 restock, or Amazon in this case. This will increase their chance for quicker checkout and payment after adding the console to their virtual cart.
One thing that many buyers observed in recent PS5 drops, restock tends to go live in waves. This means if the page suddenly says the console is sold out, do not log out yet. Keep refreshing the page for 10-30 minutes to avoid missing the next wave of PS5 restock. Lastly, save these Amazon PS5 quick links and keep them open while everyone waits for the big drop.
