“PUBG Mobile,” now officially called “New State Mobile,” received its major update for April that highlights the addition of a new game mode. PUBG Studios introduced a new version of battle royale called Extreme Erangel that also features a new weather effect.
As the name suggests, the new game mode is set in Erangel and will follow the basic mechanics of the game’s Extreme Mode with a few tweaks. “New rules combined with matches designed to be more fast-paced differentiate Erangel Extreme BR from the other modes,” the official “New State Mobile” version 0.9.30 patch notes read.
There will be 48 players in every Extreme Erangel BR match that will run for 15 minutes. “New State Mobile” players can also enjoy a new weather effect called Erangel Sunset. Despite the rule changes, the developer notes that the new game mode is still an official battle royale mode. That means players will earn BP, Chicken Medals, and Tier points when joining matches in this mode.
Players will have similar equipment at the start of an Extreme Erangel BR game. They will be equipped with a Skorpion as their secondary weapon, along with a Viper A-Spec sight attachment and a total of 50 rounds of ammo. Because of the fast-paced nature of the game, “New State Mobile” players will also start every match equipped with a Level 1 helmet, level 1 body armor, a smoke grenade, a first aid kit, four bandages, a painkiller, two energy drinks, and 500 drone credits.
However, “New State Mobile” players can also go after multiple drops at the beginning of a match in Extreme Erangel BR. Players may want to take advantage of these care packages because normal drops will not be available throughout the match. Players will also have to be mindful of the Playzone because it will shrink five times during the match, which is an interval of roughly three minutes.
PUBG Studios also released a new weapon in the “New State Mobile” April update called MCX. It is an assault rifle that uses 5.56mm ammo with a high fire rate and DPS output.
