WOBURN, Mass., Sept. 26, 2017 -- PcVue, Inc., a supplier of Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) software, will present two papers at Internet of Things West and the SCADA Technology Summit in Denver in October. The papers describe PcVue’s vision of the evolution of Operational Technology (OT) and its impact on the deployment of HMI/SCADA software.
Internet of Things West is an event covering advanced connectivity and cloud-based control of devices, equipment, facilities and enterprise operations. The SCADA Technology Summit is focused on the latest advancements in SCADA and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) technologies that provide control, connectivity, security and data acquisition to critical infrastructure and industrial environments.
Edward Nugent, COO of PcVue Inc, will present new architectures for ICS driven by the changing industrial network environment. He will discuss the impact of Industrial IoT (IIoT), Cloud Computing, Fog Computing/Edge Computing, and the increased involvement of enterprise IT organizations with OT deployments. This includes virtualization of the SCADA host, incorporation of IT best practices for cyber security tailored for ICS and incorporation of IIoT technology as a path to additional sensors for traditional SCADA applications.
