Per tradition, developers of “Pokémon Sun and Moon” will be giving away an array of free Legendary Pokémon this month. The schedule of redemption code release per region and the list of free characters are now available.
GameStop reports that there will still be varying times when redeeming the codes for free Legendaries. This probably done to avoid hurting the “Pokémon Sun and Moon” servers.
On Friday, “Pokémon Sun and Moon” players located in Europe may begin collecting their free download codes through their Mystery Gifts on their Nintendo Network accounts. They have until July 22 to redeem the code.
“Pokémon Sun and Moon” in the United States will have to wait until a week later. Redemption codes will be distributed from July 13 to 28. They will have to visit the nearest Target store and request for the code in the electronics section. As for players in Canada, their redemption codes will arrive along with the regular Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter.
It is also important to note that different Pokémon will be provided depending on the game version the player has. The changes are based on whether the player has the “Pokémon Sun and Moon” or the “Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.”
For example, a player with “Pokémon Sun” will get a level 60 Thundurus with the Discharge, Crunch, Charge, and Nasty Plot abilities. In “Pokémon Ultra Sun,” level 100 of the same Pokémon will be given away with Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, Grass Knot, and Nasty Plot powers.
“Pokémon Moon” players are getting a level 60 Tornadus with the powers of Air Slash, Crunch, Tailwind, and Rain Dance. Level 100 of the same Pokémon will be given in “Pokémon Ultra Moon,” which has the Hurricane, Heat Wave, Grass Knot, and Tailwind abilities.
All “Pokémon Sun and Moon” players can redeem their respective Legendaries through the Mystery Gift menu option. Also, note that these freebies are compatible only with the game’s seventh-generation version.
