Popeyes has finally arrived in India, and the very first restaurant outlet is located in Koramangala in the south-eastern part of Bangalore or Bengaluru. Another store was launched as soon as the first was opened and this is located in New BEL Road and Kammanahalli.
According to The New Indian Express, it was the Jubilant FoodWorks Limited (JFL), the food services company that also operates Dunkin’ Donuts and Domino’s Pizza in India, that brought Popeyes into the country. The restaurants both opened this week, and the American fried chicken brand will have its own app for mobile orders as well as a website for online deliveries.
Popeyes already has around 3,400 store outlets in more than 25 countries, and the latest addition in India only shows that the brand continues to expand worldwide. Just like with the rest of the Popeyes restaurants, its branch in India will also sell its signature Louisiana cajun-flavored fried chicken and chicken sandwich.
“We are very excited to work with Jubilant Foodworks Limited to officially introduce Indian guests to the Popeyes experience and our iconic Louisiana style chicken with its unique blend of spices and flavors,” Popeyes’ parent company, RBI International, president David Shear, said in a press release. “This milestone furthers our commitment to open hundreds of restaurants across India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan in the coming years and builds on our track record of working with best-in-class operators to reach more guests around the world.”
For the rest of the menu list, Popeyes in India will also offer food items that cater to the taste of the locals. For instance, there will be various vegetarian options such as Wraps and Rice Bowls. Aside from the brand’s iconic chicken, there will also be some Indian-inspired innovations.
With its arrival in the Indian space, Popeyes is simply committed to bringing the best food, service, and dining experience to the locals. JFL also has plans to further expand the brand across the country in the coming years.
Finally, JFL chief executive officer and Wholetime director, Pratik Pota, said that Popeyes is one of the well-loved brands in the world, and they want to recreate the same excitement and loyalty for the restaurant and its signature menu in India.
