‘Power’ Season 6 release date: Next entry will be a two-part installment; Second half to come out next year

“Power” Season 6 will conclude the revenge plot of the series now that Ghost (Omari Hardwick) is gunning for Tommy’s (Joseph Sikora) head. The trailer for the upcoming installment revealed Ghost being beset on all sides amidst allies turning on him and the authorities hunting him down.

“Power” Season 6 will be divided into two parts. The first part – which will have 10 episodes – will air on Aug. 20 at the Madison Square Garden, followed by its television premiere five days later.

The second part, on the other hand, will arrive in January 2020 and will have five episodes. But “Power” Season 6 will not be the last for the show as a spin-off series will be created based on several controversial characters in the show’s universe, DigitalSpy reported.

Power Season 6 will not be the end for the series

Executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson said that there are four spin-off series that they’re going to create. “Power Book II: Ghost” will star Mary J. Blige as its main headliner, while details about the other three have yet to be revealed. What’s been revealed is that one of these spin-off series has already entered pre-production phase before “Power” Season 6 could even air its first episode.

This indicates that the writers already have a solid idea of where to take the story and what sort of plot they’re going to be exploring. As for what will happen in “Power” Season 6, Sikora hints that Ghost will likely get the better of Tommy on account that the latter is hesitating to kill his street brother.

Power Season 6 might have Ghost killing Tommy

Sikora said that even though Tommy tried to kill Ghost in the previous installment, there is an underlying message there that Tommy didn’t want to hit Ghost. He then juxtaposed that hesitation to the Horcrux theme seen in the “Harry Potter” universe, TVLine reported. With regards to the fate of Angela (Lela Loren), she’ll be making an appearance in “Power” Season 6, but it’s unclear what sort of twist the writers have come up with the character.

With the story’s tension reaching a fever pitch, fans have been on the edge of their seat about the upcoming season. Most are siding with Ghost, of course, and are yelling bloody murder to all the treacherous characters that have turned on the main protagonist. “Power” Season 6 is expected to feature heavy violence into its narrative, and it would be interesting to see who will survive the upcoming explosive entry.
