A prediction contract put the chance of another Federal Reserve rate increase in 2026 at 76% on Sunday, as U.S. inflation remained above the Fed’s target.

The contract was priced at 65% on Saturday. U.S. consumer prices rose 3.7% in the 12 months through September, while the Fed’s policy range stood at 3.75% to 4%.

The price records trading in the contract; it does not determine what the Fed will decide. EconoTimes previously reported that December rate-hike odds reached 76.9% after the midterm results; a Friday estimate from Prime Terminal later put them at 70%.

Investors will receive further price and employment data before the committee’s December meeting. Officials will assess those releases alongside the other information available when they set policy.
