Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being treated like an outcast as it was reported that no one in the royal family is speaking or checking in on them anymore. This news comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would be taking a break from royal duties for six weeks.
This means that they will not be spending the holidays with the rest of the royal family since they will be away in Canada or the United States. They will skip the annual Christmas celebration with Queen Elizabeth and would likely be with Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, for the festivity.
The Sussexes fallout with the Royal Family
According to People, the Royal Family knows that Prince Harry and Meghan are having a hard time, but the couple’s relationship with everyone remained strained after their documentary titled “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey” was released on ITV. The show was filled with explosive revelations as the couple shared their thoughts and feelings about the criticisms they received from the press and the citizens for everything they do.
“There hasn’t been this complete 180,” an insider told the magazine. “Nothing has changed. They don’t speak, no one is checking in, no one is texting.”
The documentary also gave away the fact that there is truth to the rumors that there is a conflict between Prince Harry and William. The Buckingham Palace denied this many times only to be indirectly confirmed by the prince, so the family was somehow rattled, especially Queen Elizabeth.
Will Harry and Meghan give up their royal titles?
There were reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might never return to resume their royal duties and settle in the US instead. It was said that the pair even went house hunting as they would like to make America their permanent base. However, a royal expert Victoria Arbiter said that it is not alright for them to leave the U.K. and still do their royal duties.
She said that once they leave the U.K. and live somewhere else, they must give up royalty. "That’s just not going to be OK unless they renounce all of their royal privileges, their royal titles, and everything to do with their life as a member of the royal family,” The Sun quoted her as saying. But then again, Arbiter said that she doesn’t see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle giving up their posts in the British Royalty.
