Queen Elizabeth is allegedly stepping down and already chose who will take over the throne. It was claimed that her decision to give up her crown was due to the coronavirus pandemic that is affecting a number of British citizens right now.
A new era with the new king and queen?
On March 28, US’ In Touch magazine published a report about the royals and on its cover, the title “The Queen Ends Reign After 68 Years! Will & Kate Crowned King & Queen!” was emblazoned at the front cover. It was claimed that Her Majesty has given up the throne and already passing the crown to Prince William and Kate Middleton.
“After 68 years, Elizabeth II is stepping down and making Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, king and queen,” a source supposedly told the magazine. “The queen’s life is on hold – she doesn’t know if or when she’ll be able to return to Buckingham Palace or resume her duties, which is why she’s been forced to rethink her position. It wasn’t an easy decision, but in the end, she knew in her heart it was best if William and Kate took over the reins now.”
Everyone knows that Prince Charles is the first line to the throne since he is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth. Thus, with the news that her mother queen is declaring the second heir to the throne, his son Prince William and his wife, as the new head of the British Monarch, it was said that the decision is a bitter pill for the Prince of Wales to swallow.
Choosing William over Charles
Prince Charles has been preparing to be king all his life and making Camilla as the queen but this fell apart when the queen decided that it would be best to make William the king of the country. Queen Elizabeth allegedly believed that his grandson is ready and he’s the one who can save the monarchy today.
But then, the truth has been twisted by In Touch and Gossip Cop steps in to straighten the facts and tell what is true. The fact-checking site agreed that Queen Elizabeth is currently not sitting on her throne in this time of the coronavirus pandemic but this is understandable since she is already 96-years-old which makes her more vulnerable to the infection. She is in isolation at the Windsor Castle but she did not vacate her throne yet which means she is still the queen.
Prince Charles has been confirmed positive for COVID-19 but he is believed to be healing well at his home in Scotland. In case the Queen steps down, he is still the one who’s going to be king and this is the rule that even the royals should follow. In short, it is not true that Prince William and Kate Middleton will be declared as the king and queen soon.
