It would appear that the old characters will be playing support in “Prison Break” Season 6 with all signs pointing to the show being all about setting up the new generation of Scofields. There has yet to be news with regards to air dates and the actual plot of the upcoming season. However, the showrunners, writers, and actors appear to be busy polishing the plot to mirror sheen.
As OtakuKart reports, there have been numerous indications that can provide fans with an idea of what “Prison Break” Season 6 will be about. Although the outline is rough, at the moment, all signs point to the upcoming season being all about the new generation. That is to say, characters like Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) will only exist to help grow this new breed of showstoppers.
This makes a lot of sense if the show is to keep going since it doesn’t really make sense for a series about breaking out of prison to not include breaking out of prison. As a result, “Prison Break” Season 6 might also feature this new generation becoming embroiled in crimes, as well. If so, the adults who came before them certainly did not do their jobs very well.
A lot of this comes down to Wentworth Miller himself who said that the plot will largely revolve around making the new generation as palatable as possible to fans. After all, the show can’t just throw new faces at the viewers and expect that they will like them. This is why “Prison Break” Season 6 will need to establish whoever will take over the series as actual relatable and charismatic individuals.
With regards to when fans can expect “Prison Break” Season 6 to premiere and how many episodes it will have, none of these have been cleared up. As of now, fans and publications can only speculate.
