Purse.io, a San Francisco-based peer-to-peer service provider that connects users across the globe through decentralized commerce, has introduced ‘bcoin’, a javascrpt bitcoin library having a full blockchain validation.
According to the company’s official blog, bcoin is more than just a product. It is a more versatile and easy-to-use bitcoin library that will support Segwit, Lightning, and Schnorr signatures as well as other popular new BIPs.
“Over the next couple of weeks we will be integrating bcoin directly into Purse’s backend; battle-testing it accordingly to ensure it’s ready for primetime. And, once fully live on the site, developers can feel comfortable knowing that bcoin is ready for use on large scale, production ready projects,” the blog stated.
Apart from having full blockchain validation, the bcoin will comprise of noteworthy features including SPV mode, wallet system and wallet database, mempool or miner, rest API, open source, among others.
In May this year, Purse introduced a new service ‘Purse Pre’ that allows customers to order all of the hottest pre-order technologies and consumer electronics from a single website. Later it also rolled out new features in order to improve user experience on its platform and help power users boost their productivity.
