Online competitive video game modes and rage quitting have pretty much become a package deal in this day and age, with so many players being such crybabies over losing. When playing Nintendo’s upcoming game Splatoon 2, such immature gamers should beware. According to new reports, it would seem that rage quitting could result in a ban.
The news came via Twitter post by a user named Stealth__, which came with an image warning players against prematurely exiting an ongoing gaming session. What’s really interesting about the notification, however, is the fact that it alludes to suspicion of malicious behavior on the part of the player without outright accusing them of anything. As Stealth__ notes on his Tweet, “Splatoon 2's rage quitting message is better than most fighting games.”

“Your previous online play session didn’t end naturally, which is PREEEEETTY suspicious,” the message reads. “If this keep happens, we’re gonna have to block you from playing online for a while. Make sure your Internet isn’t busted and try again.”
The Tweet is likely a part of the Splatfest that occurred over the weekends, where select players were able to try the new Nintendo offering out. As Comicbook notes, however, there are no specifics with regards to how long the ban would be if rage quitters ignore the warnings. Based on the wordings of the notification, it likely won’t be forever.
Splatoon 2 is set for release on July 21st, Express.co.uk reports. Players can expect new modes, weapons, and moves in the game, which should make local and online competitive play more enjoyable.
For those who might be tempted to drop out of a session in order to try their luck in another one, it’s really best to finish the game first. It’s not worth getting banned for any amount of time just because of the other players are far more skilled.
