Capcom welcomed Halloween with good news for “Resident Evil 2” fans. The remake copy will be released with free Leon and Claire costumes.
The video game maker announced on Twitter that the classic costumes will be available in the “Resident Evil 2” remake copy as “a treat” for the fans’ “undying support” for the franchise. According to Capcom, the Leon and Claire skins will be automatically added to the game and unlockable for free.
Players waiting for the “Resident Evil 2” remake can now have a glimpse of the freebies, thanks to a brief gameplay preview posted along with Capcom’s announcement on Wednesday. The video teaser shows Leon changing into his Classic Police costume while Claire is seen wearing her Classic Jacket.
We have a treat for you! As a thanks for your undying support, we’re providing all Resident Evil 2 players with a piece of nostalgia:

Having a couple of free costumes in the standard copy of the “Resident Evil 2” remake is undoubtedly good news for “Resident Evil 2” fans. However, many have noticed a slight (but deemed major) change in Claire’s overall appearance. Now they are demanding that Capcom stay true to the character’s original looks.
Claire’s Classic Jacket for “Resident Evil 2” remake is visibly missing the black undershirt. The character originally had a black turtleneck shirt with sleeves under her pink jacket. Claire also used to wear a pair of black biker gloves.
Both these pieces of clothing are visibly missing in the preview of Claire’s classic costume in the “Resident Evil 2” remake. Some fans responding to these observations argued that losing these details might not hurt. But the others countered that these are quite important since the costumes are billed as a throwback to the “classic” gameplay features.
“Resident Evil 2” is a remake of the video game series originally released in 1998. One of the biggest changes in the upcoming game is that it will be played from an over-the-shoulder third-person shooter perspective.
Meanwhile, the gameplay plot still features main protagonists Leon and Claire as a newbie cop and a college student, respectively, trapped in a zombie apocalypse breakout in Raccoon City. “Resident Evil 2” remake comes out on Jan. 25, 2019 on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
